Meeting of H.B. Executive A meeting of the executive committee of tlie Hawke 's Bay A. and P. Society was lield at the showgrounds this morning, Mr. J. H. Absolom presiding over a large attendance of members. Among those present were the Hon. H. A. Itussell, Mr. Nat. Keltie, and Mr. F. W. Williams, past prcsidents of tlie society. Mr. T. W. G. Tombleson, Nuhaka, wrote offermg a cup vallied at £2 2/for the best polled Hereford bull in the two-year-old and yearling classes, the cup to be won twice before beeomvng the property of the wmner. — The cup was aecepted and the donor is to be thanked for his olfer. In connection With the question of oreediug horses suitable for mititary purposes, the Minister of interna] Ati.au'8 advised that the question of u-iuging into being a scheine lor wliich there was statutory provision dating back to 1914, had been under consideration. The Minister added that he intended to disouss the matler with the Minister of Agriculture at an early opportunity. The Nai>ier branch of the New Zealand Five Million Club wrote appealing for a douation and moral support. — ^Eeceived. In tho light liorse section at the Spring Show, the following donations were received as special prizes: — Messrs. D. G. McHardy £1 1/-, .T. D. Ormond £3, E. L. Lamlie £1, Grenvillo W. Warren £5 amt J). M. Cninj- heli £1 10/-. Arrangements are to be made for tlie extension of the telephon0 Aystein on the showgrounds to eertain points, for which two members offered to donate telephones and wiring.
