'MAIDS IN CORNFLOWER BLUE ATTEND BRIDE

J0INES— REIDY Two 'maids in gowns of cornflower hlue lace attended the bride, Ellenor Mary, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J. iteidy, Porangahau road, Waipukurau, at her marriage to Gcorge Edward, son of Mr G. Jomes and the Jate Mrs Joines, formerly of Pukehou and now of Waipukurau. The vvedding was solemnised at Bt. Joseph's Church, Waipukurau, yesterday afteruoon by the Kev. Fafher McDermot. Miss Frances Atkins presided at the organ' and played the ''Weddiug March. " Large bowls of spring blossoms were arrauged on the altar and on eaeh pew a white eamelia was tied with a white satin bow. A lovely gown of cream crepe Sonia was worn by the bride, who looked charmmg as she entered the ehurch with her eldest br other, Mr John Roidy, of Taumaranui. Her gown was l'ashioned on classical lines. The heartsiiaped necklme was finished with arum lily clasp and the baek had a row of tiny covered' buttons from neck to waistline. The skirt was piainly fitting in front and fell from the/ pointed waistline at the baek to form a long sweeping train. Bhe wore a lovely veil and cajried a sheaf .of arum lilies. - The two 'maids were Misses N. Eeidy, sister of the bride, and S. Moloney. Their gowns of cornflower blue lace were fasiiioned alike with skiris plain to the knces, tbe hemline inset with flared godets. The bodices were rucked in front and finished at the baek with high medici collars and had full sleeves tight-fitting at the wrists. They wore flowered toques covered with stiffened net and carried bouquets in shades of orange. , The duties of best man were carried out by Mr R. Mildenhall, and Mr D. Reidy, brother of the bride, was groomsman. As the bridal party left the ehurch, the bride was presented with a beantiful cream floral horseshoe by her small nephew, Jackie Reidy. Followiug the ceremony the bridal party visifed the bride 's father, Mr J. Reidy, who is a patient in the Waipukurau Public Hospital. A jolly reception was held afterwards. Beautiful spring flowers were artistically arranged and the guests were received by Mrs Reidy, who wore a smart ensemble in navy blue georgette, tlie draped neckline being finished with white trimming. She wore a navy hat and carried a .bouquet of hyaclntha, violets and maidenhair i'ern. Mrs J. B. Reidy (sister-in-law of the bride) was wearing a fawn swagger coafc over her frock of brown marocain, with hat and shoes to tone. When the bride and bridegroom left for their lioneymoon, a tour in the south, the bride travelled in a brown suit with a coat, hat and shoes to match. Many beautiful presents were received by the young couple and several large cheques.
