SUCCESSFUL CELTIC FOOTBALL CLUB BALL
- t The Oddfellow's Hall, Hastings, was decorated with a green and white colour scheine, the colours of the Celtic Football Club, for the club's very successful annual evening. The windows and lights were shaded with green streamers and overhead the elfect _ of falling snow was achieved with tiny pieces of white cotton-wool on hanging streamers. Excellent dance musie was played by Gordon liedward's orchestra. _ During the evening a delicious supper was served in the supper-room wiiere the long tables were decorateu witli crystal vases of gjolden wallflowers, spring bulbs and foliage from Mrs Liudsay Gordon' s ^.rden. The committee responsible for the capably-carricd-out arrangements were Mesdames J. ELelly, H. J. Wright, J. Halligan, W. Horton/ Annan and Miss E. Geddis ; Messrs B. Waish, P. Walsh, J. Halligan, M. Baillie, D. Tullen, T. McHardy and 11. McKerreli (hon. secretary). Among those present were: — Miss Ti. Geddis, black chaiitilly Jace with a black taffeta sash and scarlet. velvet flowers at the neck.. Mrs L. Fowlcr, suuset taffeta gown with bouffant sleeves alid double basque. Miss P. McKain, gerauiuih red swiss organdie with uoubie kareti cpauieLtes and brilliant clasp at the neck. Mrs It. Tier, panna violet llowered moire taffeta gown and matching coatee. Mrs K. Golds, black matelasse with long sleeves beautifully embroidered in a variety of shades. Mrs H. Orbeii, lemon rippled chiffon with a matching cape inset with brown cobweb lace. Mrs T. Geddis, tunic of black needlerun lace worn over a black satin skirt and a red spray. Mrs 0. Cratme. l-li;e siver trimming and a black coatee. Mrs'lt. Owens, (Palmerston North), white chiffon llowered "in red shades and a red sash. Mrs R. Urey. gotvn of suede satin with tiny button trimming and a gold girdle. Miss P. Minogue, sunset drawn thread swiss voile with a frill at the neck and black sash. Miss M. Flyun, black satin royale, the corsage slightly gathered ixi front to form a high ncckline. Miss B. Amiell, ocean blue matelasse with silver collar and pink rosebuds at the neck. Miss J. Heyward, black skirt worn with an evening blouse of ivory satin with a black belt. Miss D. Waish, black mirror belvet with brilliant belt clasp and a cape of silver lame. Miss Dulcie Walsh, qhell pink- pheasant's eye taffeta with high neckline and bouffant sleeves. Miss B. Alexander, C'oronation red velvet with a dainty clasp at the neck and one on each sieeve. Miss J. Watson. floral silk frock with a clasp of brilliants at the cowled neck. Miss J. Warren, white organdie tulle trimmed with tiny frills and having two pink rosebuds at the high neck. Miss L. Giles, Gloucester green mirror velvet witli puffed sleeves and shirred corsage. Miss D. Pelling, green llowered chiffon, the corsage having "knife pleating across the front. Miss K. McDonnell, dusky pink matelasse Avith silver sequins outlining the neck. Miss M. Tacon, green, black and white plaid taffeta with puffed sleeves and green collar. Miss N. Walker, sky blue taffeta with stitciied collar and stitching at the hem of the full skirt. Miss J. Burgess, sunset moire taffeta with slashed corsage at the back and slashed puff sleeves.
Miss M. Burgess, turquolse-blue taffeta witb silver flowers at the neck and a wide silver kid belt. Miss N. Luke, parma violet cloque with silver sash trimmings. Miss E. Gregory, aquamarine blue shimmer satin with a brilliant belt clasp. Miss M. Beach, floral silk tunic with black revers worn over a black skirt. Miss L. Beach, gown of flowered mariette in shades of red, and a red taffeta coatee. Miss P .Mcllroy, white satin royale gown and coatee with white gardenias at the neck. Miss N. Boston, blaek skirt worn with an evening tunic of silver lame. Miss P. Elan, primrose souple satin with ilame floivers worn at the neck. Miss M. Harding, white satin charmelaine with puffed sleeves and a shoulder spray of.pink flowers. ' Miss M. Lys, black cotelle worn with a red shoulder spray and red sash. Miss B. Scott, green flowered chiffon with cape sleeves shirred on the shoulders. ' Miss P. Murphy, petal pink satin having puffed sleeves and a silver stitched belt. Miss A. McGarthy, flame mirror velvet with shirred corsage and a brown velvet evening coat. Miss B. Tyne, green satin with handmade silver and green flowers at the waist and neckline. Miss J. Lynch, white georgette having inset panels of needlerun lace and brilliant button trimming. Miss B. Poppleweil, carneo pink gieorgette, the square neckline edged with a liarrow frill. Miss A. McLeod, apple green cloque gown worn with a black coatee. Miss E. Thow, ocean blue taffeta gown with a long shoulder spray of niiniature daffodils. Miss E: Wright, aquamarine matelasse with flared basque effect edged with silver sequins. Miss V. Dew, blackberry moire taffeta frock and basqued coatee having puffed sbeves. Miss A Cuff, flaine velvet with revers of silver lame and silver button trimming. Miss M. Hill, Buckingham lilac taf'feta with quilted hem and posy of violets at the neck. Miss C. Hutcliinson, sky blue blistered cloque and pilffed sleeves and pink flowers at the neck. Miss T. Hutchinson blue matelasse with puffed sleeves and Peter Pah collar. Miss A. McK'eegan. . floral chiffon in green shades with trimming of green taffeta. Miss K. Tilson, cafe au laib needlerun lace wornov er flame taffeta and a brown lace coatee. Miss P. Lomas. petal pink sheer satiu with a silver gtirdle and handrnude corsage flowers. Miss A. Cassidy, azure blue cotelle with double epaulettes with a long black sash. Miss N. Aldridge, blue matelasse with a clasp of brilliants at the high neckline in front. j Miss M. Paget, sky blue cotelle with ; a cluster of gold flowers at the neck. Miss E.
