Mrs WMtcombe, of Manly, Sydney, is a visitor to Wairoa as the guest oi Mr and Mrs J. M. Ostler. She is accompanied by Miss Jean Mumford, oi Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. Miss Freda Tims, A.T.C.L., L.T.C.L., is a visitor to Waipukurau as the guest of Mr and Mrs A. Johnstone, Takapau road. Mr P. A. Jessep, Waihi Station, Wairoa? who for several months has been traming with the Hawke's Bay and East Coast Aex-o Club, has been granted an A pilot's lxcence. Mr J. Millar, postmaster at Nuhaka for a number of years, has been transferred to Waihi on promotion. Mr E. S. Powdrell, Wairoa, who has been studying farming methods in Scotiand for 18 months, will arrive back in Wairoa early in October. Mr G, Reg. Cook, Waipukurau, who has retired from the secretarysliip of the. Makaretu Sports Club, has been elected an honorary life member of the club.
