New Bridge for Mohaka. An overliead bridge is to be crected uear the Mohaka tunnel to meet the needs of the gr owing settlement there. A. survey has already been carried out in connection with the building uf the bridge. Otane Labour Party. The Otane branch of the Labour 1'arty held another of its campaignfund dances on Saturday night. There was a good attendance. Briahb music was played by Mrs Meta, and Mr S. [rwin was M.C. Supper was scrved hy the social committee and an enjoyahle time was spent by all present. Carnlval Card Evening. During the week the Otane foothall Queen Carnival committee held an enjoyable card party. Supper was served by the ladies of the committee. Mrs Carter won the prize for the highest score of tlie evening. Basketballers Leave. The Otane members of tlie Central Hawke's Bay Basketball team Ieft by the mail train this morning for Auckland. There were quite a number of people at the station to farewell thein and rousing clieers were given as the train moved out. Porangahau Football Dance. The Porangahau Football Club held a dance in the town hall on Friclay evening in aid of the Porangahau football queen. The attendance was not as great as was expected, and the dance was therefore run at a loss. Music was supplied by Les. Anderson's Orcliestra.
