MIRROR GLASS WILL CREATE RICH EFFECTS

Such e.ffective results are to be uchie\ed by the skilful use of a piece of mirror-glass in the right placo that it is surprising to find so few women seizing the opportunities offered. For instancej a charming effect is to be obtained -by placing on the wall, immediately behind the bracket on which a statuette is posed, a st.rip of looking-glass of the same lieight. In this wny you have a reflection of the whole of the figure,' which is all to. the good from an aTtistic point of view. If a handsome flower-piece or. a fino landscape hangs upon oue wall, you may enjoy it doubly if, on the wall opposite, you place a mirror, tilted correctly to give a pleasant reflection of the picture. This is a most useful notion in a narrow noom. Pretty, too, is the effect of a scmicircular table, placed against a wall, on which a long mirror has been fixed. The table looks like a circular one that extends beyond the actual room. Thisi idea is especially valuable in giving greater dignity to a room that is not too well proportioned. And a mirror fixed at the baek of a divan enlivens things with a duplication of cushions and couch. A mirror-top to an occasional table is still another suggestion worth remembering, since it shows off ornaments to the best adva-ntage.
