HAUMOANA MEETING
The Haumoana Women 's Institute held its August meeting in the hall on Thursday last. Mrs. Neilson presiding in the absence of Mrs. McCarthy,- who is still on the sick list. After the ode and aspiration the gqneral business aws attended to. Mrs. Tliorburn and Miss Goodrick were appointed delegates to the federation meeting at' Greenmeadows on October 6. * Miss Atkins demoustrated bookbinding, several members being keenly interested; others brought materials and followed the demonstration. Miss Atkins will continue the demonstration at the hall on Monday, Septemb.er 27. The competition, best results from loz. of wool, brought some splendid entries, Miss Atkins j'udging. The results were as follow: — Mrs. Baker, baby's set, 1; Miss Goodrick, collar and cuffs, 2; Mrs. J. Glenny, baby's jacket, 3. Best- bloom awards were: Mrs. Glenny, calendula, 1; Mrs. Agnew, hya-einth, 2. , Yotes of thanks to the dembnstrator and judges, and the National Antbcin brought the meeting to a close.
