Uar Rolls Down Bank. What appeared to a casual passer-by to be a serious accident, on examination proved to be only a small sedan car upside down by the short bridge or culvert at the foot of the Tipapakuku Schoo] hill. The car apparently got on the slope of the bank, rolled over a.nd over, and came to rest almost upsule down on the top of the fence o!j the property of Mr A. Peters. Fortunately the car was not damaged other tlran a few scratches, and no one was hurt. No Ghallenge Cup Match. When Waipukurau forfeited the Ghallenge Cup match against Takapau seniors at Takapau on Saturday, the Central Hawke's Bay Rugby Union tried o arratnge for Porangahau to take their place, but adviee was received yesterday moming that Porangahau could not play either, but that they would play next week. Otane and Old Boys have also challenged, and these games will be played on subsequent Saturdays. Bible Society "at Wairoa, The Rev. N. H. .Fiiieli presided at the ahnuai meeting of the British and Foretgn Bible Society at Wairoa on. Thufsday night. The suln of £l3 has been sent to Bible House, Wellington, during th'e past year. Miss Hartneil, organiser for North Island central, ad,dressed the meeting. Adjutant Hutchings touched oh the work in India. The eiection of offieefs resulted: — President, Mrs G. Simpson; vice-presidents, Captain Kearse, the Rev. N. H. Finch, Rev. C. E. Hyde, Rev, J. H. .^Voolford and Messrs J. W. Sproul an^ R. H. Peez; secretary, Miss N. H. Croker.
