Awatea apd Mariposa Leaving at Same Time
(From
AUCKBAND, Last Night. Interest in the duplicated sailing* from Auckland for Sydney on Friday of next week of the Awatea and .tho Mariposa should be quickened by the decision reached by the Matson Line to delay the departure of the Mariposa by five hours until 10 o'clock that night. Heavy cargo tonnage previously resulted in the Awatea' s sailing time being delayed from 5 p.m. to 10* p.m., and both ships will leave port at the same time. The Matson Line's Auckland agentg explained that heavy cargo will be handled at the port. It is neverthelesa very unusual for the company' s ships to be held back to such a late hour. The ships will meet on even terms, and as they will arrive at Sydney some hours after their normal arrival time, it is prohable that the way is prepared for fast crossings. Given fine weather, the passage of the two liners will he of interest.
