Fails to Locate Missing Polar Aviators (Received 27, 9.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 26.. Sir Hubert Wilkins has started on his second flighfc over the Arctie in search of the Soviet fliers who were lost in a non-stpp flight over the North Pole to Alaska and the United States, says a message from Coppermine. The weather is hazy, and rain is threatening. A Fairbanks (Alaska) message saysthat Mr. Mattern landed after a flight which failed to locate the Soviet airmen. Mr. Mattern announced that he has done all that is possible in the search. He is withdrawiug from the search. He added that Sir Hubert Wilkins might achieve success, providing the weather clears. .
