Sheepowners' Federation and Farmers' Union WANGANUI DECISION

WANGAiS Ui, Jjast "There is a strange feeling in Hawke's Bay that there should be an amalgamation between the Farmers' Union and the Sheepowners' Federation," s^id Mr O. J. Harris, organiser of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, wben speaking at the monthly meeting to-day of the Wanganui provincial executive. He added that the Wairoa 'branch of tbe union bad passed a resolution urging a confernce between the two organisations, but he could not say whether anything had been done in tbe matter. Mr. C. Smith said the Sheepowners' Federation was practically a South Island body.. As a member of both he considered that amalgamation should take place and moved accordingly. The resolution was carried.
