FOREIGN SHIPS CLAIM BRITISH PROTECTION

LONDON, Aug. 25. The Government has ordered British Consular offices throughout the world to refer to London all applications for British registrations of foreigu-owned ships. This action, aecording to the Daily Mail, follows recent iustances of foreign ships obtaining British registration and then claiming the protection of the British Navy in the Mediterrbnean.
