"CORONATION ROW"
Weeping Elms Commemorate Accession Seven weeping elms will be planted in Hastings street, Hastings, fronting the Municipal Chambers and theatrc, on Wednesday morning at 10.30 o'clock. This row of trees will bo known as the "Coronation Row," and is to commeraorafe the recent coronation of Their Majesties, Kiug George YI. and Queen Elizabeth. This morning a number of mcn, un« dcr the supervision of the superintendeut of reserves, Mr. J. G. C. Mackenz n>, dug tho necessary holes and they will havo evcrything ready for the oilicial planting ccreniony on Wcduescay. Each of the seven trees have been donated by as many dift'erent organisations and local bodies in the town and it is expected that they will have ropresentatives present at the planting ceiemony. The organisations concerned are the Hastings Borougk Council, the Hastings and District Progress League, the Hastings Chambcr of Commerce, the Hastings branch of tlie New Zealand li.b.A., the Hastings Women 's Community Club, the Hastings Townswomen'a Guild, and the Hastings branch of the Eed Cross Society.
