MAUNGAMOANA GROUP
Mrs. Chapman Taylor, of Havelock North, gave a lecture on social purity at the second group meeting of the Manngamoana Group (which consists of the Eskdale, Bay Yiew, Te Pohue, Tangoio, Kotemaori, Kaiwaka., Putorino and Rapunga Women 3s Institutes). The meeting was held in the Eskdale Hall. Mrs. Rigger, president of the Northern Hawke3s Bay Federation of Women 3s Institutes) epoke on fihe endowment fund and other iinaneial affairs. An informal luneheon was followed by a talk by Miss Spencer. The Bay Yiew Institute entertainecl with a play, "Bobby Steps Out.33 Those taking part were Mesdames Stafford, A. McHardy and Olsen and Miss R. Blair. The duet "Holly Night33 was &ung by Mesdames King and W. Kirkham who, with Mrs. C. Kirkham and Miss D. Kirkham, also rendered "The Wayside Well.33 There was a splendid es:hibition Of handierafts from" the different ijnstitutes. A salaa -table in charge of Mrs. Mabel and Miss R. Floranee did good business. Mornin'g and afternoon tea was served ,by Eskdale members, with Mesdames Conway, Saunders, Brown .and Miss Blair Tn the kitchen. Mrs. A. M. McNeill had charge of the handierafts tabje. %
