Meeting at Weber
The August meeting of the Weber Institnte was presided over by Mrs Franklin. Unfortunately, the attendance was very small. After the roll call, "names of native trees and birds," business .was discussed. The Institute 's eympathy was expxessed for an absent member in her time of trouble. Mrs Franklin gave gardening hints for iliis month. Afternoon tea was served before Mrs. France gave a mosx; interesting talk on native trees and shrubs. Mrs. France urged members to plant clumps of native bush. ana gave valuablo hints to be followed in the planting of native trees. This talk was thoroughly appreeiated by all. The competitions, waggon covcrs and a bowl of hyachxths and ..polyanthu3, were won by Mrs. Farrow and Mrs. MeLean xespectively. Before tho closo of the meeting Mrs. France was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her most interesting address, and was presented with a shoxilder spray. A happy little gathering closed with the singing of the National Anthexn.
