PINK ALMOND BLOSSOM FOR CHURCH DECORATION
RIDGWAY— LOOMES WEDDING Large bowls of pink almond blossom and floral arches decorated the Hastings Methodist Churchi last evening for the wedding of Gladys Mary, second daughter of Mr and Mrs P. C. Loomes, Beecb road, Hastings, and Joseph, . second son of Mr and Mrs T. Ridgway, of Masterton. The Rer. R. B. Gosnell offi'ciated at the ceremony, and Miss Napier presided at the organ. • The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lo.vely gown of magnolia satin fashioned on classical lines with a fish-tail train and sleeves puffed to the elbows and tlien fitting ( to the wrists where tliey were finished with tiny buttons. A tiny spary of orange blossom was worn at the eowl neck and slie wore magnolia velvet shoes. Her veil of magnolia tulle was appliqued with lucky liorseshoes and was arranged with an orange blossom coronet. She carried a sliower bouquet of creaiii flowers and maidenhair fern. As the bride left the chureh she was presented with a silver horseshoe for good luck. The two bridesmaids were the bride' s sisters, the Misses Ruby and Phyllis Loomes, who wore gowns of apple green and sheel pink cloque respectivcly. The ' gowns were cut on .lUmpire lines and had long sleeves puffed above the elbows. Each maid wore- silver kid shoes and a halo of apple green and pink flowers and carried a bouquet in these shodes. The best man was Mr Richard Scott, and Mr Leslie Scott was groomsman. Usliers at the cliurch were Messrs George White and Russell Verry. The wedding reception was held at the Rialto tearooms, where the tables were decorated with pink flowers and greenery, and a lucky horseshoe was Buspended over the bridal table on whioh stood the three-tiered square wedding cake, bcautifully iced in the magnolia shade of the bride's gown. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs P. C. Loomes, the latter wearing a tailored costume of black pin-striped with silver, a duck- " egg blue liandembroidered blouse and grey accessories. Her hat IwaB of black tagel straw rwith floral trimming and she wore a silver fox fur and carried a posy of daphne and fern. " • • When the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymo'on after a very jolly reception the bride travelled in a navy costume .worn with a pink blouse and ,navv sorihiy hat trimmed with a pittk
spray. She wore navy shoes and gloves and carried a navy purse. The bride's gift from the bridegroom was a travelling case and from her parents a gold wristlet watch. To tho bridesmaids the bridegroom gave crystal and gold necklaces and his gift from tho bride was a signet ririg. The guests present were : Mrs A. L. D. Frazer, aunt of the , bride', Mrs' C.
