Kereru Meeting The August meeting of the Korem Women 's Institute was held at Kereru Station, the home of Mrs. W. Johnston, vice-prcsident. There was au increase in tho number of members present. Mrs. L. R. Averill, president, opened the meeting. A roll call, "Jobs I detest," was answered by all, caasing a good deal of laughter. Tho uiost actested job seemed to be cleaning the bath. Mrs. Walker 's social competition, "Found in the kitchen" was much enjoyed, the result • being a tie between Mesdames Whyte and Kay. The monthly competitions resul'tc.di, "The best darned sock, Mrs. P. Walker J, Mrs. W. A. Whyte 2, Mrs. A, Oglevie 3. Rctst bloom, Mrs. R. P. Kay (daffodil) l,.Mrs. A. Oglevie (violet) 2, Miss Elmers (primrose) 3.. Members brought useful gifts to be sent to Hawke's Bay Children 's Home. The hostess was Mrs. C. Averill, and a dainty aiternoon tea was. appreciatod.
