WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

Tikokino Meeting The usual monthly meeting of the Tikokino Women's Institute was held in the Memorial buildings, Mrs Petrowski presiding over' a large attendance of members. Sympathy was expressod with Mrs Wathan in the loss of her son, all members standing in silencn. It was decided to liold the Spring Flower Show on Sepiember 21. Mrs Rumbal and Mrs Hart kindly donated 2/6 'each towards the children's prize money, and Mrs Petrowski donated a cake for the Women's Institute to assist the funds for the local Jtugby Queen (Miss Leoni lloach). Following are the results of the competitions for the month : Afternoon tea-cioth from one yard of britway, Mrs Williamson 1, Miss B. Knapp 2 JMiss D. Knapp 3. Prettiest posy, Mrs A. Knapp 1, Mrs G. Morrison 2, Mrs W. Oliver 3. Best bloom in my garden, Mrs Oliver. Hostesses' competition, Mrs Mi Peterson. . A dainty afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Green, Simmons and Mackie, after which the singing of the National Anthem concluded a pleasant afternoon.
