WAIPUKURAU, This Day. The usual monthly meeting of the Waipukurau branch of the New Zealand Plunket Society was held in the Plunket Rooms yesterday afternoon, Mrs J. D. Ormond presiding over the following: Mesdames W. A. Ghambers, B. J. McCormick, J. L. Brathwaite, L. G. Harker, H. Hooper, I. W. N. Mackie, U. R. Moore, F. McWilliam, E. Broad,' and the acting-secretary, Mrs J. H. Walker. Apologies were received from Mesdames J. W. Harding, L. Bell and M. Joblin. A vote of sympathy was tendered to Mrs Bell in her recent bereavement. The president mentioned the illness of the secretary, Miss E. A. Hobson, and stated that Mrs Walker had kindly taken over Miss Hobson 's duties for threet months. . ThC Plunket nurse submitted the following report for the month of July: Waipukurau: Yisits to rooms, adults 142, babies 123, children 29; total 294. Takapau: Adults 46, babies 44, children 9; total 99. Porangahau: Adults 9, babies 9, children 6; total 24. Visits to homes: Waipukurau 36, Takapau 10, Porangahau 9. New cases: Waipukurau 3, Takapau 1, Porangahau 1. Oases under care: Waipukurau 201, Takapau 60, Porangahau 23. Mrs J. D. Ormond submitted a most interesting resume of the provincial conference held in Hastings recently, and was accorded a vote of thanks. Mrs J. L. Brathwaite was appoinled visitor to the rooms for the ensuing month, and Mrs I. W. N. Mackie k'lidly ofiered to niotor the Plunket nnrse to Porangahau for her fortnightly visit' on Wednesday. Accounts amounticg to £13 12/8 were passed for payment. Donations were reeesved from Mrs J. W, Harding and Mrs J. fc>. Barrett, for which they were thanked. A voto of thanks was accorded Mrs J. W. Harding for a load of firewood donated for use at the rooms. The secretary intimated that the general conference would be held in Wellington in November.
