L^te Rates Fully , Maintained h0ggets sell well • 7 Late rates for store sheep were fully maintained at Stortford Lodge to-day, when a yarding of about 3000 was offered. Hoggets predominated and found a ready inarket. The best grown Romney wether hoggets unshorn as' lambs made 24/2. Woolly ewe hoggets, showing a Corriedale cross, made 32/7. Down cross hoggets in fat and forward order, made to 23/10. Some of the smail-grown entries made dear buying, chiefly owing to their ligiht condition. A ready market ruled for breeding ewes, heavy in lamb four-year-old Tutirarbred making to 34/3. Sound-mouthed Puketitiribred five-year ewes, practically on drop, sold at 27/V. No wethers were penned, but some of the best Romney hoggets should develop into good two-tooths off the sfiears. Realisations ' were as under:— On account of Mr M. Druzlanle, 100 four-year-old Tutira-bred ewes, depastured with Southdown rams since March 6, brought 34/3. These ewes were well framed, ' showed well up in lamb, and carried a good lengrth of wool. .- ' On account of the same vendors, 143 Tutira-bred four-year ewes; depastured with Southdowns and in similar order to the previous pen, sold at 33/-. On account of Mr J. Thom, Maraetofara, 110 fairly grown Romney ewe hoggets, unshorn as lambs, in good healthy order, and sound, realised 32/9. An entry of small to medium grown fat and forward block-faced hoggets, brought 20|/'3.
A further entry of similar-bred hoggets, also in fat and forward order, better grown tban the previous pen, met the market at 23/10. , ' In from Ngatarawa, an entry of Puketitiri-bred five-year ewes, depostured with Southdowns since March 20, brought 27/7. These ewes .were exceptionally well mouthed; and were in good order; - / On account of the same vendor, '52 small-grown * woolly Romney wether hoggets, in bright and healthy order, bred at Puketitiri, reached 19/7. On account of Hendley Station, an entry of medium grown black-face hoggets, in fat and forward condition, a 'percentage being ready to hang up, sold at 22/6. An entry of fairly-grown Romney wether hoggets, unshorn as hoggets, in fat and forward condition, a good liner met the market at 24/2. Off the Opapa hills, a line of smallgrown black-face hoggets, in iight to medium order, made good -selling at 18/-. A line of 100 woolly ewe hoggets, showing a Corriedale cross, in healthy order .and medium-grown, sold at'32i/7. In from Longlands, 100 well-grown Romney wether hoggets, unshorn '"as lam ba and in forward order, in very. healthy condition, sold at 23/6.
