Heavy Extra-Prime Wethers at Stortford Lodge brisjc sale for fat sheep A brisk market showing an advance in values prevailed for fat sheep at fctortford Lodge to-day. New price records for' the season were established in which heavy ©xtra-prime wethers made 46/- and heavy prime ewes to 37/6. Heavy extra-prime Down-cross hoggets reached to 30/-. The . yarding contained some excelRnt quality peus, for whijh butehera readily competed. The market can be guaged from the 'following prices for selected peus: — An entry of 30 medium-framed light prime wethers brought 32/6. In from "Aramoana," au entry of medium-grown prioie two-tooth ewes iiiade 30/-. From the same source, 15 similarlygrown two-tooth wethers sold at 30/6.. On account of Mr. R. Macdonald," Argyle, two extra-prime heavy earyshorn wethers realised 46/-. Froni the same source, 7 prime South-down-cross wethers sold at 29/6. On account of Mr. A. E. Long, Pukahu, 15 well-grown extra-prime choicequality Down-cross hoggets were purchased by Mr. J. B. Fletcher at 30/% The same purchaser secured a particularly fine line of extra-pricne maiden four-tooth ewes at 37/4. In from Pukahu, an entry of medium to heavy prime Down-cross hoggets were passed at 26/-. Five heavy prime well-woolled ewes made 33/-. An entry of medium-grown prime blaek-woolled hoggets sold at 25/-. On account of Mr. F. L. Tiffen, "Elme's Hill," 25 extra-heavy prime and well-woolled ewes topped the market at 37/6. On account of the sacne vendors, an entry of extra prime Down-cross maiden six-tooth ewes brought 35/-. On account of the Lockie Estate, an entry of heavy prime maiden six-tooth ewes realised 36/3. = On account of Mr. W. White, six heavy extra-prime Southdown ewes brought 33/6.
