Young Couple Honoured

NORSEWOOD, Last Night. Last Friday night there was a very happy gatheumg at the lnatitute Hall, South Norsewood, the occasion being a 1 kitchen tea gift evening tendered to Miss L. Paget ud Mr Chn' Dalberg, on the eve of their approaching marnage. Friends were present from near and far, some coming from Palmerston North. Mr I. MeCullough superintended a very enjoyable dance programme. The music was supplied by Mrs C. Parsons and Mr K. Staiger, whose manipulation of the piano and violin contributed largely to the suceess and pleasure of the evening. Miss J. Edgeley played a mueh-appreciated ' extra. After a tasty supper had been dispensed, Mr A. F. Culliford, on behalf of the company, spoke in high torms of the guests of the evening. Both had spent their school days at Norsewood, and wero highly respected by all. Mr Culliford concluded by asking the young couple to accept the big array of gifts as a tangible expression of their friends5 best wdshes for a long and happy future. After the beautiful gifts had been displayod Mr Dalberg, on behalf of Miss Paget and himself, thanked Mr Culliford for the good wishes expressed, and also their friends for the numerous and handsome presenfs they had'given. Me also heartily thanked those who were responsible for giviug them Buch an enjoyable evening which was thoroughly appreciated. "For They are JolJy Good Fellows" was sung and cheers given. The evening ended with "Auld Lang Syne."
