WAIPUKURAU FIRE BOARD
Quarterly Meeting Held WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. At the quarterly moeting of the Waipukurau Fire Board held in the Borough Council chambers yesterday, Mr. W. G. Bryce presided over the following members: Messrs. I. W. N. Maekie, J. L. Brhthwaite, A. Sinclair and W. E. Watson. The superintendent of the Waipukurau Fire Brigade, Mr. J. A. Chambers and Mr. H. B. Smart (secretary) were also in attendance. The Department of Internal Affairs wrote advising that the complete personnel of the board for the ensuing term was as f'ollows:— Messrs. W. G. Bryce (appointed by the GovernorGeneral), A. Sinclair and W. E. Watson (elected by the fire insurance' companies), I. W. N. Maclcie and J. L. Brathwaite (elected by the Waipukurau Borough Council). — Received. A letter was received from Mr. G. Hunt reminding the Fire Board that debentures issued by the board will mature on August 1, 1937, and stating that these would be presented at the Bank of Australasia on due date. — Received. The office of the Minister of Internal Aflf-airs sent approval of the board 's estimates. — Received. It was decided to add 2/6 a week to the nightwatchman 's salary, commencing from August 1. Accounts totalling £105 4/2 wero passed for payment. The secretary reported that the inspector iad been satisfled with the appliances and pressure. It was deeided to hold the next meeting on October 11.
