Juvenile Evening

WAAJrAW A, Last JNight. At the fortniglitly oieeting of the juvenile braneh of the Loyal Abbotsford Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, held in the Lodgeroom, Waipawa, the N.G. Sister P. MacQuilkan presided over an attendance of some sixty members. The officers of the juvenile branch of the Tavistock Lodge (Waipukurau) and members of the adult committees were also present. The N.G. extended a hearty welcomo to the visitors and called upon P.D.G.M. Bro. Hurdesfield to address the meeting. Bro. Hurdesfield thanked the lodge for the warm welcome which had been extended to tlie visitors. He congratulated the lodge on the vory fine aaanner- in which the work had been done, and said that proper attention to tlre working of tbe lodge should show members what it meant to belong to such .a great organisation. Tliere could only be a few oilicers, but every member was able to do something to help the lodge along, and by comiug together at the meetings a greatef spirit of ffiendship was brought about among the members. The N.G. of tho Tavistock Juvenile Lodge also thanked Waipawa for the invitation to be present. P.D.G.M. Bro. W. G. Bryce and Bro. J. Hill also endorsed the vomarks of previous speakers. Followiug the business a Bhort prograoime was preseuted itenis being co» tributed as follows: — Bister C. Booker, tap dance and recitation; Sister P. Harker, re.cita.tion; Bro. K. Booker, violin; Bro. II. Strang, mouth Organ; Bro. N. McKay, recitations; Sister I,. Thorburn (Waipukurau), tap dance; Sister J. Bishop, pianoforte solo; Bro. J. McLean (Waipukurau), recitation; Bro. lan McKay, recitation; Sister B. Pedersen, song; Sisters J. Johnston and V, Hill (Waipukurau), Highland dance, accotnpamed by Bro. J. Johnstou on the pies. A commuuity sing was also held with Sister B. Kingston at the piano, and the rest of tlie evening passod with games. Suppor was served by the adult committee.
