New Bank Building. J Advice has been reeeived ny the Waipukurau branch of the Natioual liank of New Zealand to the eifect that their arohitects, Messrs Mitchell and Mitchell, of Wellington, expect to be in a position to eall tenders for the building of the new branch ofiice within the coming fortnigiht. The new building is fo occupy the corner oi j. Ruataniwha and Northumberlaud j streets, where tlie old premises. for- | merly occupied by Bryce's grocery I store, now stand. A modern building on this site will be a detinite asset to the towu's appearance. Bad Section of Road. A section of the Hastiugs- Waipukurau main highway which is in a eunsbant state of disrepair is that plecv hetiveen Waipawa and the traific bridge on the Waipukurau side. Owiug to the proximity of a steep bank which keeps tho sun oif the road practically all day in the winter months, this section qf the road is almost always damp and this no^doubt accounts for the difficulty m coping with the "potholes v The Dairy Industry. Mr H. Trewly, eecretary of the Wairoa Co-operative Faetory Co., reports that the directors of the company have decided to pay out the full surplus available subject to the necessary audit, which will allow for a bonus of lfd per 1b. on top of 1/- already disbursed. Tho total of the bonus, which is to be paid out on or about August 20, is £10,500.
