WAIPAWA, This Day. Referring to the ereetion in the near future« of the new school, Mr V. A. Patterson, at the annual meeting of the Waipawa Chamber of Commerce, stated that tbe time appeared opportune to again consider the matter of providing swimming" facilities by tbe ereetion of batbs. He Understood that in the past a scheme had been under consideration for the ereetion of baths to be fed by a, gravitation scheme, tbe proposed site being near the .sports ground. This would be ideal, but if it were to be gone on with in tho future it would be necessary before the ereetion of tbe proposepl railway embankment to instal tho necessary piping. Mr Adeano said it had been found that about oue milu of piping woulcl be necessary, and this would just about uialio the cost of such a scheme prohibitjve. Mr Kingston said there jvould be difficulty in securing a titi© to riverbed land. Mr F. Holt, in speaking to tlie proposal, said that some years ago he had investigated several schemes very fully, and this information should be available in the borough office. The cbief difficulty, of course, was finance to carrjr out any scheme adopted.
