Otane Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Otane Women 's Institute was held in the Town Hall, Mrs R. H. Tod presiding over a full attendance of members. The motto for the month is "No piece of good fortune is really enjoyable without a friend to share it." After general business had been transacted, members adjourned to the hall reserve} wliere two trees were plapted to commemorate the Coronafeion, It was deqided to hold the aunual concert eprly in Octobep. The afternoon took the fprm of a social talk, during which each member gave useful hints on gardening, The roll call, "Mistakes I made in Housekeeping" brought forth many humorous as well as some helpful repUes. The competitions resulted :— Eggless cake, Mrs Arnott l, Mr® W, Spai'go junr., and Mrs Ballard (oqnal) 3, Mrs F. Smith 3. Best bloom, Mrs Arnott, 1, Mrs Spargo jnr. 2. Mrs A. Bull 3. Afternoon tea was served by tho hostesses, Mesdames Robertson, Carter, Pouglas and Crawl'ejf The singing of the National Anthem brought to a close a very interesting and enjoyable afternoon,
