Wakarara Gathering

The monthly meeting of the Wakarara Women 's Institute was held in the schoolroom, the president, Mrs. Warlow, presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors. The correspondepce was read and dealt with, after which a dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostess, Mrs. Douglas. Then all members joined in an interesting competition, "Naming of birds, ' * arranged by the president. Four tied for the first place, Patty Barlier proving the winner. Results of competitions for the month were:— Soft toy, Mrs. Bqrker 1 and 2; judge, Miss M. Donald. Best jar qf jam, Mrs, Warlow a'nil Mrs Barker (equal) 1, Mrs, Langeson 3.
