ST. ANDREW'S MEN

Attendance of 42 at Club Meeting INTERESTING PROGRAMME The regular meeting of St. Andrew's Men's Club was held in St. Andrew's Hall on Thursday evening. There was an attendance of 42. Community singing led by Mr. Grieve was a feature of the evening. Mr. V. McPherson rendered cornet solos in his usual expext style. Songs which wero much appreciated by all present were contributed by Mr. Harvey, of Napier, and Mr. N. J. Adamson. A short talk on bread-making was given by Mr. A. Gr. Scott. He contrasted the methods of 30 years ago with those of to-day. He also referrud to the work of the Wheat Research Instituto in Christchurch under the dircction of Dr. Hilgendorf and its efforts to improve the quality of New Zealand wheat so that it aiiglxt produce the lines t flour. The main address of the evening was given by Mr. C. Griffiths, and was entitled "Is the Clxurclx going forward or on its defence?" The speaker . dealt with his subject in a capable and instructive manner'and at the conclusion an interesting discussion by severai members proved that mexubers were deeply interested in church progress.
