Kaiwaka Gathering The monthly meeting of the Kaiwaka Women 's Institute was held , on Tuesday. Mrs. White presided and extended a welcome to a neweomer to the district, Mrs. Harwood, formerly a member of the Pakowhia Institute. The ehief feature of the afternoon's programme, short, unprepared speeches, gave rise to some amusing and interesting discussions. •• The results of the various competitions were: — The best article made from a felt hat, Miss McKinnon 1, Mrs. Kilkie ; gentleman's -kuttonhole, Mrs. Hammond 1, Mrs Proctor 2; hostesses' competition, Miss McKinnon 1. Afternoon tea was :served by Mrs. Bain and Mrs. Fraser.
