DELIGHTFUL EVENING HELD AT "AOMARAMA"
"Aomarama," the beautiful home of Mr A. W. Parsons. Porangahau road, Waipukurau, was the scene of much gaiety on Thursday evening when Mr Parsons, who is the president of the .Porangahau Bugby Queen carnival committee, entertained a large number of guests at bridge and piug-pong, interspeysed with numeious competitions. ' This delightful evening was given to raise funds for the Porangahau Queen, Miss Jacqueline Ormond, Mr Parsons beipg ably assisted by Mr and Mrs B. O. Bousefield, the latter wearing a distinctive model gown in burgundy • cloque and carrying an exquisifce bouquet of dapbue and violets, which had been presented to her carlier in tho evening by Miss Jacqueline Ormond, who was looking very smart in black georgette, having narrow white frills on corsage fmished with a natural shoulder spray. . . The lounge, which was used for bridge, was deeorated with big bowls of golden iceland poppies. Ping-pong was piayed in the upstairs smoke-room In the dining-room, a sumptuouW supper was served, the tables being attraetively arranged with coloured candles an taH crystal candlesticks. Mrs B. Johansen and Mr H. Peacoek wore the winners of the bridge, and Mrs C. Scliroder and Dr. W. B. Fisher won ' the ping-pong, all receiving appropriate gifts. Among those present weres— Mr and Mrs I. W.
