Spectacular Final Performance
The "1937 Eeveille," which has run for four nights at the Hastings Municipal - Theatre under the direcfcion of Mr. W. Lints, concluded its season last evening. If anything, the performance on the concluding night was more poiished than ever. The same high standard was evident, and there was again a big attendance. At the' conclusion of the evening 's entertainment, Mrs. T. H. Lowry, Doflimion president of the New Zeaiand Eed' Cross Society, under whose auspices the show was staged, thanked the performers and expressed appreciation of the response which the public. had made. The concluding display of the programme has been tlie moS Bpectacular every night of the show, but last night the beauty of the scene was enhanced by the array of coloured streamers which bedecked the whole hall and the stage after they had been thrown by members of the audience.. It was a fitting finale to a brilliant show which Hastings will loug remember. j The curtain had to be raised a number of times at the end before the players were allowed to go. Once the curtain had fallen for the final time, the performers themselves had theb turn to demonstrate their appreciation. The producer, Mr. Lints, was carried shoulder high and a speech was deinanded and Mr. Lints, in reply, thanked the players for their support and ; i operation. Three cheers were then given for Mrs. Lowry and for several others who had taken a prominent part in the production. The playrra wero later entertaincd af a pleasanjt party,
