Maraekakaho Meeting

The Maraekakaho Women's Institute held their monthly meeting as usual when thoso who attended were well rewarded by hearing a most delightful talk on the life of J. M. Barrie, given by Mrs H. W. C. Baird, of Hastings., Mrs Baird, who'is a wonderful speaker, gave a talk which was greatly appreciated. The competitions f.or the afternoon were, best bloom in tho garden and bowl of violets, both of which were won by Mrs J. Graham. A cake made from a given recipe, for which Mrs McKinley gave a prize, was won by Mrs L. McLean, Mrs McConochie being second. Another competition, for the best antique, was won by Mrs McConochie. A very pleasant afternoon came to an end with afternoon tea, the hostesses being Mesdames H. Browning, James and Howitsoil.
