"LADIES' NIGHT AT NAPIER SAVAGE CLUB

Last evening the Napier Savage Club held its first "ladies' night" this season in the Foresters' Hall, when members' wives and friends were entertained with an excellent musical programme anfanged by Savages Drummond, Kent and Bentley. The stage was beautifully decorated with palms carnations and cyclamens. Chief Savage Tonkin extended a very cordial welcome to those present, and also to Savages Barker and Moss, of the Waipawa Savage Club, who were visitors for the evening. The programme was as follows :— "Installation," a clever farce by Savages Tonkin, Benouf, Williams, Thomp- - son, Fleming and Kent; Overture, the j Savage Club orchestra; vocal solo, i "On the Road to Mandalay," Savage Marshall, and recall number, "Marie, My Girl;" humorous stories, Savagie Renouf ) pianoforte solo, "Golliwog's Cake Walk" (Debussy), Savage Ballantyne, his recall number being "Londonderry Air" (arranged by Percy Grainger); the Savage choir, "Marguerita," and "Huutsman's Farewell;" sketch, "The Wild West," Savages Etheridge, Fleming, Williams, Kent, Wrigjhton and Wood, during which popular melodies were played by Savage Etheridge on the piano-accor-dion; vocal solo, "The Border Ballad," Savage Bentley, his recall numbers being "I Got A Kobe" (Negro Spiritualj, and "Bed Devon by the Sea;" violin solo, Toselli's Serenata, Savage "Drummond, and for a recall he played "Traumerie ;" witty and humorous stories, Savage Foster. The Savage choir brought the korero to a close with the singing of "Good-night, La.dies," and "Give Yourself a Pat on the Baek." . During the interval, supper was ha,%'.od round, and was enjoyed. by eveiyone. The singing of tho National Authem ended an exceptionally enjoyable evening. Among tliose present were: — Mr and Mrs H.
