Norsewood and Ormondville

ORMONDVILLE, Last Night. A match was played against Norsewood golfers over the weeJi-end on the Ormondville links. Most enjoyable pjay resulted, and although the local ttam were victorious, tbere wero somo \ ery close games. At the end of the rtiatch Mr P. Bennett, captain of tbe Norsewood Club, tbanked tbe Ormondville Club for tlie hospitality sbown to tbe Norsewood players, which be knew was fully appreciated, and be boped tbat in tbe near future tbe Ormondville players would visit the Te Wbiti links. Replying, Mr H. O. Baines, actiagcaptain of tbe local club, said it was a great pleasure to entertain tbe Norsewood Club, and that although Norsewood was only a young club, nany of the games were closely contested. Ccntinuiug, Mr Baiues expressed tbe tpinion tiiat inter-club matches were tbe best tbing to establish tbe confidenco and improve tbe game of young players. Anderson, 4v-3, J. Fitzgerald and J. Gasson dedefeated W. Te Tau and A. Rosaaiver feated M. Mulbolland and E. Sinifch 5—3, H. Sands and C. R. WilJiams 1 up*, S. W. Ellingham and G. Mason lost to K.
