NAMING OF WARDS
Infectious-Diseases Block at Napier Hospital SUGGESTIONS TO BOARD The naming of the infectious-diseases block now being constructed at the Napier Public Hospital was discussed at the meeting in Napier yesterday of the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board. A proposal to name one ward after a late doetor who had rendered valuable service to the hospital and another after the deceased son of another doetor was opposed by several members. A letter from the medical superintendent, Dr. J. J. Foley, deferred from the April meeting, suggested that the two wards in the new block should be nnmed Leahy and Gilray wards after the late Dr. J. P. D. Leahy and the deceased son of Dr. T. M. Gilray. "I must oppose the suggestion, " aaid Mr. C. O. Morse. "We must retspect the .previous donors, the Robjohn people, .who provided the finances for the other wards. lt has always been •the practice of the board to keep the narnes of the wards, and I don't see why we cannot do it here. I appreciate the reasons expressed by the luedical superintendent, but I think that we should adhere to oui previous principle. ' ' It was decided to defer the matter for one oionth while Messrs. C. Lassen, Morse and Dr. J. Allan Berry confer upon the matter with the medical superintendent.
