NAPIER CLUB RACE

The Napier harrjers held their anuual Clive-to-Napier road race, on Saturday} which attracted a largie field. A very keen and close finish resulted in a win for P. Rogers, from R. McGregor, with L. HaV-h third. The placings were as follovv: — P. Rogers (9min. 30secs.) 1 R. McGregor, (6min 15sec) 2 L. Hatch (4mdn. 15sec.) 3 A. G. Hughes (lmin 45sec) 4 W. Didcott (3min. 15sec) 5 G. Denford (4min. 30sec) 6 The fastest times were: A. G. Hughes, 37min. 16£sec 1 W. Didcott, 39min. llsec 2 L. Hatch 39m in. 46sec. 3 At tlie conclusion of the race tho runners were tlie gwsts of Mr and Mrs Lawrence at Lansdowne House for afternoon tea, Mrs Lawrence presenting the Lawrence t.'up to the winner.
