Funds for Waipukurau Queen

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. To augment the funds of the Waipukurau carnival queen, Miss Shirley Clay, Mrs. Bob Ricketts, and Mrs. C. M. Williamson entertained a number of friends at a most enjoyable progressive bridge evening, which was held at Mrs. Bob Ricketts 's residence, Porangahau road, on Wednesday. The rooms were attractively decorated with pink flowening gumi, and the delicious supper served was much appreciated by the players. • Mrs. J. G. Clarkson and Mr. A. M. White held the highest scores, both receiving suitable gifts, and the competition run during the evening was won by Mr. A. L. McCormick. Those present included: — Mr. and Mrs. H. Roach, Mr. and Mrs. G. ' E. Gideon, Mr. and Mrs. P. Mason, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. McCormick, Mr. and Mrs. A. McRae, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Hay, Mr. nad Mrs. D. Eadie, Mr. and Mrs. J. G.
