WAIPUKURAU, This Day. Originality is the keynote of the finst issue of The School Times, which in future will bo the official orgaq of pupils of the Waipukurau District High School. The contributions of prose and poetry, by children from the lower classes upwards, are of a pleasingly high standard, and it seems certain that if the tone of this first magazine is kept up, the journal will play an important part in the sehool life. Throughout the pages of The School Times are some. excellent drawings^ that of a chicken just having broken its way out of an egg being a most appropriate cover-drawing for the first issue. This publication is to be a monthly one, and contributions are coming in eo fast that the next issue holds promise of being just as attractive as this one. The editorial committee is composed of Messrs E. M. Marshajl and E. G. Kedgley, of tlie teaching staff, and A. D. Tappin and S. G. Cottrell, two pupils. The School Times offers tangible proof that the pupils of the Waipukurau District High School are determined to live up to their motto. which is, "I will yet go forward."
