30 Days Hard-Labour, And Licence Cancelled

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Thirty days' imprisonment with hard labour was imposed on Frederick Henry Hookham, a taxi driver, who was charged to-day with being intoxicated while in charge of a car. Hookham 's iiceh'ee was cancelled aild he was declared unfit to hold one for two years. A traflic inspector gave evidence that he was ealled to the scene of an accideht On Fridsiy Higlifc Und hoticed that llookham was under the influence of liquOr. Hdokham droVe wittiesS to the council chambers where the lfitter took charge of the car and drove Hookham to be examined by a doctor.
