AUCKLAND, Last Night. Radio station IZM, Manurewa, which for the last four yeara has been financially supported by the Auckland Star, has been purchased by the Government. As it has been impossible to obtain an assurance that'any reasonable subsidy towards the inereasing cost of maintaining the station would be granted, the directors coneluded that the only way to secure a continuance of IZM. This course was followed only affcer obtaining an assurance from the Minister that it is the intention of the Government to maintain the station under the directxon of Mr. W. W. Rodgera, and that sueh a type of programme will be transmit{ed as wiH make it retain its individuality and popularity with the listening public,
