Two Star Matmen
The professidnal wrestling contest between Earl McCready, British Empire ehampion, and Matros Kirilenko, the Russian Cossack, to be staged in Hastings on Friday night is already ciausing considerable interest. McCready is wrestling only for a month in New Zealand, as he is on his way to Australia, where he is under a substantial guarantee to Mr Dick Lean, of Stadiums Ltd., Melbourne, for six moitths. Patrons are therefore fortunate in seeing this popular matman in action again. Since leaving New Zealand, McCready has wrestled 18 matches in the States. He had 16 wins, a loss. to Detton through McCready 's second becoming too excited and throwing in the towel while the Canadian vras resisting a toe hpld and was even on the point of breaking it, and a draw 'with Kirilenko. On accoirnt of his exceptional strength, combined with brilliant wrestling abliity, no better opponent than the Russian could be found for McCready, and as a capacity house is antieipated patrons axe advised to niake: their reservations at Hall's bookshop, phone 4Q61...
