WAIPAWA, Last Night. Tlie match against the Takapau Club p.'ayed on the local links on Saturday resulted in a win for Waipawa by four to three in the two-bjill, and three to two in the four-ball. The games were closely contested, and the prevailing conditions were excellent for good golf. The following are the results, Waipawa being mentioned first: — Two-bali — Watts beat Itopata ; Knobloch beat O'Dowd ; Collings halved with Tollemaclie • Trevena halved with McDonnell j Witherow beat ' Stevens ; Clark beat Askew ; Strang lost to Morton; Price halved with Drake; Letlibridge lost to Lowes ; Chisholm lost to Ellis. Four-ball — Watts and Knobloc}) beat Itopata and O'Dowd ; Collinge and Trevana lost lost to Tollemache and McDonnell; Witherow and Clark beat Stevens and Askew ; Strang and Price beat Morton and Drake; Lethbridge and Chisholm lost to Lowes and Ellis. Further games in the elimination rounds for the F.M.T. Cup resulted as follows: — Watts beat Knobloch; Edwards beat Fox; Walker beat Bryant. Competitors in this round are reminded that the first round must be disposed of by July 14, and those competing in the Saturday section by July 10. On Wednesday nest a match will be played at Mt. Herbert agaipst the Mt. Herbert Club, cars leaving the Post Office at 12.45 p.m. sliarp. The team is as .follows: — Bryant, Edwards, Bishop, Clark, Woods, Knobloch, Surridge, Jopson, Mitchell, Fox, Dallas, Witherow and Jeffery.
