Regular Trips Within Six Months
(By Telegraph-
AUCKLAND, L'aat Night. 1 The belief that Pan-American Air- • ways would start a regular service across the Pacific to New Zealand and Australia within the next six months was expressed by Mr. G. Langille, American aeronautical engineer employed by the Wright Aeronautical Cofporation, who arrived at Auckland by the Monterey from Sydney. For the past 12 months Mr. Langille has been 'in Australia assisting to train eommercial air pilots and helping with the ground organisation of air services. "I do not think there is any chance i of Auckland being left. out of the route to be taken," he said. "The Clippers i will be down here at the end of tho year i and. they will go on to Australia from New Zealand." The absolute necessity for having the ground organisation perfect for com- , mercial flying was emphasised by Mr. ' Langille. In Australia, he said, direc1 tion finding, radio beacons and other j essential equipment were being estalblished at Mascot, Essenden, Hobart, Darwin and other important aerodromes on ihe eommercial flying routes. New Zealand and Australian flying con1 ditions were very similar and such equipment, which conld probably be installed at all New Zealand aerodromes for a total cost of about £250,000, would have to be used.
