HOSPITAL BOARD SEAT
Successor to Late Mr Cecil Duff c0uncil to appoint one The appointxnent of a representative from Hastings on the Napier Hospital Board to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr Cecil Duff will bo one of the matters to receive attention at the next meeting of the Hastings Borough Council. ^ r Though in the ordinary course oi events members of the Hospital Board occupy the office as a result of aa election of ratepayers, provision is raade in the iegislation for the appointment by the particular local authority concerned of a representative from any particular part of the board' s district m such circumstances as have now arisen. ' . Hastings is entitjed to two members on the board, and at the last election Messrs S. J. McKee and C. Duff were elected unopposed. The Borough Council will be meeting next Thursday week, when, it is anticipated, some announcement will be made as t,o who is to he the new member.
