Steel President Alieges Communist Aims MORE STRIKE TR0UBLE

(Received 25, 11 a.m,) WASHIN GTON, June 24. The President of the Republic Steel Corporation, Mr. T.-M. Girdler, testifying befor© the Senate Commitlee, alleged that the Committee of Industrial organisation denies free American citizens the right to work and encourages and promotes violence and disregard of law and is associated with Cbmmunism, many of its leaders and organisers being avowed Communists. "The C.I.O. keeps contracts only when convenient for it. The C.I.O. constitutes the most dangerous threat to the representatiwi of democracy in the United States," he said. A message from Warren states that the C.I.O. declared the labour holiday ended but "threatened an even more general walk-out in the event of further trouble. Several factories declined, however, to take back the returned workers, declaring a lock-out and charging the I.O.U. with bad faith.
