Ormondville Croup
On Thursday last the Ormondville Women's Institute held their monthly meeting, which was well attended despite very wet weather. After the usual opening the president, Mrs. H. R. Benbow, welcomed Mrs. Thorne, a new member. Plans for forthcoming meetings were discussed, and it was deeided to form a study group under the Sara Ann Rhodes seheme, through which lectures will be given on the selected subjeet, "Ideal Homes," on June 29, July 1 and 6; also to have a lecture on diet, to which non-members will be invited, at a date to be arranged. An Institute "shop" is to be arranged to augment the funds, and a children's fancy dress ball will be held, for which the following promised prizes: — Mesdames Cload, Ryan, "Williams, H. R. Benbow, Port and Miss Longman. It was resolved not to enter a team for the Women's Institute drama festival this winter. Competition winners were: — Mrs. E. Cload, seed cake, Mrs. W. A. Trask, coloured wool embroidery. The competitions for next month will be fruit squares, puff pastry, and child's knitted soeks. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames J. Homes, H. J. Newling and J. Packer.
