TAKAPAU, This Day. The monthly meeting of the Takapau Dranch of the Farmers' Union was held on Monday evening, Mr N. Tilley presiding over a small attendance of members. 1 The chairman xntroduced Mr J. Livingstone, provincial president, who gave a very interesting talk on Farmers ' Union niatters. Mr Livingstone answered various questions and was aecorded a liearty vote of thanks. Mr Hugh White gave a most interesting and informative address on trees and tree-planting, from which members gained valuable dnformatlon as to the most suitable trees to plant for various purposes. A remit was carried urging tliat inCormation should be collected from -earious parts of the province and tabulated. so that farmers wishing to plant Tees should, know the most satisfactory pecies to plant in tlieir locality. Mr Wliito answered numerous quesions and was cordially thanked for his cldress
