OBITUARY
MRS. ALICE HAWKE Mrs Alice Hawke, wife of Mr Fran k Hawke, passed peacefully away at her residence on Wednesday morning after a short illness patiently borne. Mrs Hawke, who was a daughter of the late Mr G. H. Gilding, was born in Napier 61 years ago, and had resided there ever since. She was held in the highest eeteem by a wide cia-cle of friends, to whom she was well known from her long residence in Napier. Until a few months ago she was a keen member of the Napier Townswomen's Guild and took an aetive interest in several of dts cireles, but increasing ill-health, borne with great eheerfulness and courage, had latterly compelled her to lead a life of retirement. Apart from her many lifetime friends, she leaves her husband and four sons, Messrs Jack (Napier), Roy (New Plyinouth), Tom (Wairoa), and Les (Napier), and three sisters, Mrs J. Wark (Napier), Mesdames R. Hore and M. Drayton (Wanganui), to all of whom the deepest sympathy and kindly thoughts are now extended
