POLICE TRANSFERS

Christchurch Detective For Napier Changes in the staffs of stations in the Napier Police District were announced this morning by the officer in charge of the district, Inspector J. Fitzpatrick. Transfers are to take place immediately. Detective W. J. Mason, formerly of Christchurch, has been appointed to fill the vacancy in the detective branch at tNapier caused by the transfer of actingDetective T. Chalmers to Wellington. Constable E. A. Gatehouse, who has been transferred to the position of officer in charge of the police station at Waitahuna, in the Dunedin police district, and the vacancy in Wairoa will be filled by by Constable A. McLellan, on transfer from Temuka.
